What happens to the money we raise together?

Each year, the funds raised by the United Way are distributed back to the community through the work of Community Investment Teams.  Each team is a trained group of local volunteers who are knowledgeable about the community’s needs. These panels of volunteers review each agency’s finances, programs, facilities, and long-range plans within the broad framework of the community’s needs. After thorough analysis, these volunteers recommend how much money each agency’s program should receive.

UWBB relies on the Community Investment process to distribute funds to certified agencies. Remember, it’s 100 percent volunteer driven, and anyone in our community may volunteer to assist with the funds allocation process.
