What is YPC?
UWBB’s Young Philanthropist Circle (YPC) is for professionals under 40 who are interested in philanthropy, networking, and investing in our community. In the 2010-11 campaign, 65 YPC members raised $91,040. YPC’s focus is to connect young professionals, to provide service opportunities to young professionals and to establish young professional leaders in our community.
Goal
To create hands on opportunities for YPC members to make a difference in our community.
Mission
YPC members will have the opportunity to connect, serve, and lead in our community. YPC will be the philanthropy outlet for young professionals.
What we do
-
Breakfast with a Leader – This unique program for YPC members offers an opportunity to meet with prominent philanthropists in our community. Members get to know and learn from CEOs and established community leaders.
-
United Tonight – A variety of YPC networking events take place throughout the year. Many socials are held in conjunction with Access Tallahassee and the Network of Young Professionals.
-
Lead United – Connects YPC members with UWBB Tocqueville Society and Board members through a one-year mentor-based relationship. YPC members will also have the opportunity to mentor a member of FSU’s Student United Way. Members must meet certain eligibility criteria to participate in this program.
-
Extreme Makeover: Agency Edition – YPC coordinates its annual Extreme Makeover: Agency Edition volunteer project every spring. YPC teams up with other groups in the Big Bend to perform improvement projects at several local UWBB agencies. Every year brings about a different set of agencies and projects.
What is the YPC Fast Track Program?
The YPC Fast Track Program provides a broader group of donors with the opportunity to participate in a “step-up” leadership-giving program. Individuals and couples may join YPC by giving $500 during the first year of membership with a commitment to step up to the $1,000 Leadership level by the third year of membership.
The step-up schedule is $500 the first year, $750 in year two, and $1,000 by year three. Fast Track members enjoy the same opportunities as YPC members including attending Breakfast with a Leader and other social events. Listing in the UWBB’s Leadership Roster is reserved for the third year of membership.
